Welcome to Our Future!

New tools to keep you informed about changes to Ohio’s DD system

Each day, the expectations of individuals with developmental disabilities continue to grow. As those expectations increase, Ohio’s developmental disabilities system must evolve to better support individuals.

Last year, DODD began work to shape the future of Ohio’s system. Also, there are several external forces – including new regulations from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and a letter from Disability Rights Ohio requesting changes to Ohio’s system – that are factoring into the planning. This process is ongoing, and there are some things we know, and a lot we don’t yet know.

We know change is unsettling. DODD is committed to keeping you up to date, and to seeking your input as we continue our work. We have developed several tools to help with this.

  • The Our Future website: This new website will collect information about all of the changes in one place, and offer tools and resources to make it easy for you to keep up to date. Check back regularly for new information.
  • PipelineDODD’s newsletter delivers news and information to your email inbox, and we’ll include regular updates about these changes in Pipeline. Subscribe online at You also can read Pipeline online.
Also, you soon will be able to quickly and easily share comments and ask questions online. Watch the Our Future website for more information.

Please know that the one thing that will never change is our primary goal – ensuring the health and well-being of the individuals we serve. As we all work together toward this goal, we will build a brighter future for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, and all Ohioans.
