Community Concepts Groundbreaking Ceremony

In early August, Community Concepts held a groundbreaking ceremony for two 6-bed homes (Intermediate Care Facilities) to be located in West Carrollton, Ohio. The homes will be part of the state’s Developmental Center (DC) downsizing collaborative efforts, whereby DC Community Resource Coordinators assist with the transition into the community home.

Service & Support Administrators Forum

More than 350 Service and Support Administrators (SSAs) representing County Boards of DD from around the state convened at the Xenos complex in Columbus last week for an SSA Forum sponsored by the Ohio Association of County Boards of DD (OACB).  DODD Director John Martin was among the many speakers who addressed the group. He presented updates on various DODD initiatives, including the Ohio Shared Living approach to residential services, focusing on family homes in the community.

Getting Organized The conference space filled quickly, as the roomful of SSAs interacted before the program began.
