2014 Funding System Redesign – Regional Community Forums
DODD has contracted with HIGH IMPACT Mission-based Consulting to develop recommendations for a funding system redesign that supports an increase in integrated employment. You are invited and encouraged to attend a regional forum at the time and location most convenient for you. Two identical sessions will be held at each site from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., and registration is free. A complete list of forums and registration information is available online. A set of Key Principles for Employment First will be reviewed and discussed. There also will be opportunities to learn about at least two funding redesign proposals. At each site, two identical sessions will be held.
Worksite Training for Job Coaches, July 21
There will be a free Worksite Training for Job Coaches webinar July 21, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. featuring Dennis Cleary, Assistant Professor, The Ohio State University. The training will provide a famework to analyze worksites including social demands, sequencing and timing of tasks, and ideas to help familitate long-term supports. OOD — Bonanno and Weisenborn Awards Nominations Now Open, Nominations Deadline is July 25
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) has established the Ben Bonanno Disability Advocate Award to honor outstanding advocacy accomplishments by non-employees OOD, and the Denise Joanne Weisenborn Service Award to honor non-employees of OOD who provide outstanding services to Ohioans with disabilities to make their participation in society more meaningful. Details and a nomination form are on the OOD website. Awards are given at the discretion of the OOD Commissioners and may or may not be awarded every year. PAR Board Seeking Members
PAR (Professionals Advocates, Resources) is looking for members who are interested in serving on the Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of 12 to 14 members (four officers and up to ten trustees) and represent a wide array of professionals that serve people with developmental disabilities. Project STIR Training, August 18-21
The Franklin County Board of DD will sponsor a Project STIR (Steps Toward Independence and Responsibility) ‘Train the Trainer’ training August 18-21 at the Holiday Inn, Worthington. The FCBDD Self Advocate Advisory Council currently is finalizing details for this event, which will be coordinated by the Ohio Self Determination Association (OSDA).

DODD Hotline for Reporting Abuse, Neglect, or Other Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs)
To report abuse/neglect and other MUIs, call toll-free: 866-313-6733. Please note that MUIs are to be reported to the local County Board of DD, however, it is understood that there may be times an individual, staff member, or family member may feel it is a conflict — or that, potentially, a County Board may be involved in the allegation. In those instances it is important to remember the hotline number is there to be used for reporting concerns.
